To My Dear Friends,
If you have Chinese friends around, you might recently have heard them mention "Guoqing" . Here’s a simple introduction: It refers to China’s National Day, observed annually on October 1st to commemorate the founding of the People’s Republic-1. One of the most anticipated aspects is the seven-day holiday that accompanies it, known as the "Golden Week"-2—a full week off, providing ample opportunity for relaxation and time with loved ones.
During these seven days, people engage in activities similar to vacations everywhere: some return home for family reunions, perhaps driving to visit elders and sharing a warm, home-cooked meal-1; others plan trips to desired destinations, whether it’s seeing the Great Wall adorned with autumn leaves or strolling along sunny southern beaches; many also gather with friends to enjoy hot pot, watch movies, or simply unwind at home—a much-needed respite for everyone.
Even if you aren’t in China right now, may the joy and peace of this holiday reach you. If you have Chinese friends, a simple "Wish you a happy holiday!" would surely touch them warmly. Should you ever visit China during Golden Week, you’ll experience the festive atmosphere firsthand: streets decked with vibrant national flags-1, the sound of families laughing together, and everyone embracing the holiday spirit.
Wherever you are, I send my sincere wishes: may your days be filled with small beauties, and if you’re also on a break, may you relish every comfortable moment. Finally, I sincerely wish my friends a Happy National Day, and may all friends find life smooth and joyful!
